Hundreds of thousands of pilgrims are attending an unprecedented event at the Vatican today.
Pope Francis and Pope Emeritus Benedict the 16th have canonized two of their predecessors in a ceremony that drew Catholics from around the world.
Vatican historian John Thavis was asked what makes Popes John Paul the Second and Pope John the 23rd sainthood material.
“It’s not the decisions they necessarily made as popes. Its their spiritualized, their holiness, their energy they brought evangelize to spreading the gospel.”
About one-million pilgrims flooded into Rome for this morning`s ceremony.
