Today is World Autism Awareness Day

Communities around the world are marking World Autism Awareness Day today.

Locally, a “Light it Up Blue” barbecue is being held in the Waterloo Public Square from 11am to 1pm.

In addition to the free barbecue, there will also be lots of activities such as face painting, blue nail painting, sensory friendly activities by the Waterloo Public Library and free blue light bulbs.

Light It Up Blue is a global campaign aimed at raising awareness about autism.

In Toronto tonight, the C-N Tower will be lit up blue.
