10:00am- Karen Gallant, Senior Director of Talent Networks at Communitech, Re: Tech Jobs Connex opened a new office in Downtown Kitchener. The program, which helps laid-off tech workers in the region, has been running since August 2012 but has expanded and moved the offices to better allow former BlackBerry employees to access networking possibilities at Communitech. They are also offering new services to Employers in the region – helping them host career events and access the talent in the ex-BlackBerry labour pool.
10:30am- Dr. Alon Gratch, Clinical Psychologist and Author, Re: The New York-based psychologist examines the various reasons why middle-aged men walk out on their lives. Durham regional police have had very few leads to go on and that it appears Jeffrey Boucher “has simply vanished.” Among the scenarios being offered up by police is that the disappearance of Boucher, could be a case like this. Police are ending the ground search for the missing jogger from Whitby, who raised in Waterloo Region.
