A bitterly cold day is in the forecast, prompting Waterloo Region Public Health to issue an Extreme Cold Warning for the area. That’s in addition to the Windchill Warning issued by Environment Canada.

Public Health advises anyone heading outside today to use extreme caution since frostbite is now a risk.

570 News weather specialist John Wilson says the high today will only reach minus 16 with windchill values in the minus 28 range.

There are a few cancellations due to the cold as well. Those are posted on the Storm Centre Page on: https://www.570news.com/extremeweathercentre/
