CUPE and Waterloo Region ratify contract

A contract has been ratified between the Region of Waterloo and CUPE Local 5191 Emergency Medical Services.
This agreement is intended to carry out mutual goals of offering fair pay and working environment, while continuing to build on the level and quality of service provided.
The three year agreement includes a 1.75 percent wage increase each year on April 1, and minor adjustments to benefits and premiums.
CUPE Local 5191 includes 110 full-time and 86 part-time paramedis and fleet support employees.
