Regardless of who wins tonight’s Grey Cup, Waterloo Region will be connected to the historic trophy.

The Riders host the Hamilton Tiger-cats in Regina in the CFL’s championship game. It starts at 6pm.

Waterloo’s Luca Congi a kicker, plays for Hamilton. He is also a former Rider.

The Ti-cats also have University of Waterloo product, Joel Reinders. He is on the practice roster.

Saskatchewan has Chris Best, a guard, who spent two seasons at the University of Waterloo.

Hamilton played its home games in Guelph this season, while the team waits for its new stadium to be built.
