‘We Day’ at the Kitchener Aud

The Aud was filled by six thousands students for We Day Waterloo Region, featuring Free The Children Co-Founders Craig and Marc Kielburger, as well as Ambassador Nelly Furtado.
Students heard motivating words from Martin Luther King III, the oldest son of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, and from Spencer West, a man who climbs mountains despite not having any legs.
Nelly Furtado told the media that she is a part of We Day because of the hope she can see in the children at the events, and in countries like Kenya thanks to the support they receive from Free The Children.
Craig Kielburger says its important for parents to encourage their children to be a part of service, on top of extracurricular activities, to help start a change.
Two students were surprised with the chance to head to India and Kenya to help Free The Children build a village.
Regional sponsor BlackBerry is offering 25 scholarships to local students, and 25 more to students across Canada, to also have the chance to head overseas with Free The Children.
Other performers were the Kenyan Boys Choir, Tyler Shaw, and Down With Webster.
