What climate change is doing to backyard rinks

Researchers at Wilfrid Laurier University are looking closely at backyard rinks to try and figure out climate change.

They have set up a website and are asking the public to detail what is happening to their outdoor rinks.

Robert McLeman is an Associate Professor of Geography and Environmental Studies
at Laurier and tells 570 News they’re asking people to document skating conditions on the rinks every week.

McLeman adds the project does not have an end date and he hopes it continues indefinitely.

He calls it a Canada-wide science project.
