Flu starting to slow down

The flu continues to make the rounds in Waterloo Region, but Public Health does say it is starting to slow down.

All the same, it says the number of cases of influenza are actually starting to increase in some other parts of Ontario.

For that reason, it’s urging residents to get vaccinated, if you haven’t already.

There are two public health flu clinics this month, including one today at the Health Unit’s Waterloo office from 2 until 8 this evening.

The final one is January 10th at the Cambridge office on Main Street, also from 2 until 8.

There have been 230 confirmed influenza cases in Waterloo Region so far and 5 deaths where influenza was at least a contributing factor.
