Transit hub meeting

The planned transit hub in downtown Kitchener is the focus of a public meeting later today.

It will be located in the King and Victoria area and will serve as one stop shopping for public transit pulling in all the different modes to a central location.

That would include Grand River Transit buses, light rail transit, GO Transit and Via Rail.

Regional Chair Ken Seiling tells 570 News everything appears to be on schedule at the moment.

He says there is “a lot of public enthusiasm” for the project and he hopes it will be up and running in two or three years.

The meeting runs from 4 this afternoon until 7 tonight at regional headquarters on Frederick Street.
