A Pair of Local Fires This Weekend

The cause has yet to be determined after a couple of fires in the area over the weekend.
A massive fire destroyed a family-owned furniture business in Drayton Sunday morning.
The blaze broke out at Woodland Horizon on Wellington Road 11 around 8am. Fortunately, no one was hurt. The company is known for making kitchen and bathroom cabinets.
Mapleton Township Fire Chief Rick Richardson tells 570 News that the cause is still under investigation.
He says more than four dozen firefighters were needed to extinguish the blaze, which raged on for almost 4 hours. Crews were also called in from Arthur, Palmerston, and Moorefield.
Officials say it could be days before they determine what sparked the fire.
Meanwhile, the North Dumfries Fire Department is trying to determine the cause of a weekend house fire. No one was hurt in Saturday afternoon’s blaze on Old Beverly Road. Officials say it started in a bathroom and, while the cause has not yet been determined, it is not believed to be suspicious.
No damage figure is available.
