Scary moments on Highway 85

Two scary accidents on highway 85 had the road either very slow or closed from just before 7:30am to just before 4 in the afternoon.
Both accidents happened at University Ave.
The first saw a tractor trailer carrying grain and heading southbound on the 85, when a tire blew making the driver lose control, which made the truck cross over into northbound traffic, luckily not hitting anyone, but the truck went off the westbound University ramp landing on its side.
OPP Detachment Commander from Cambridge, John Mraud tells 570News, the driver was not seriously hurt, “The driver had minor injuries only and no one else was involved, and that was quite lucky.”
The second accident happened early in the afternoon when a Ford pickup, for reasons not yet known, crossed into the southbound lanes from the north side and collided with a Ford Taurus, “We’ll make an determination in the next couple of days, if we can, as to why the gentlemen in the pickup truck crossed over the centre median, and then if charges are warranted, charges will be laid”, said Mraud.
Both drivers were taken to the hospital and are expected to fully recover.
