Cambridge company gets Federal support

The Minister of State for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) has made a funding announcement for a Cambridge tech company.

MP for Cambridge Gary Goodyear told 570 News eSentire, a cyber-security firm, will receive close to 1, 000 000 dollars, “this will obviously allow the company to penetrate markets around the world and grow its international presence. The company tells me they expect to grow 10 times their size within the next 3 – 5 years.”

Cyber-crime is a major threat to Canadian national security, Goodyear said “40% of all cyber-attacks are focused on companies with less than 500 employees and that within 6 months of that attack, 60% of those companies are no longer in business.”

“Through strategic investments like this one,” Goodyear said, “the Government of Canada is working to make sure the communities and businesses in Southern Ontario continue to grow now and into the future.”
