Energy policy was a hot topic when Ontario PC leader Tim Hudak stopped by the 570 News studio this afternoon.
He told 570’s Gary Doyle show that it’s time to end the run around by reducing the regulatory burden and he’s ready to pay for that promise. He pledged, “If my Cabinet Ministers can not reduce the regulatory burden by at least 30 per cent, I’ll dock their pay and I’ll dock my pay as Premier as well. We’ll actually put our money where our mouths are.”
Hudak says their five-point job plan will make Ontario the best place to get a well paying job.
Elsewhere on the campaign trail, Premier Dalton McGuinty won’t say how much it will cost to scrap a gas-fired plant that is quickly becoming a hot-button election issue. Taking questions about the decision today, McGuinty wouldn’t even offer a ballpark estimate of the cost, saying it is, “the subject of continuing conversation.”
NDP leader Andrea Horwath did not make any appearances today.
