The region’s newest roundabout has been open for less than three weeks, but already it’s recorded four collisions.
It’s the three lane traffic circle at Homer Watson and Block Line in Kitchener.
Regional Manager of Transportation Engineering, Bob Henderson tells 570 News they are monitoring that roundabout, but collisions and other traffic incidents are common at all new-look intersections as drivers adjust.
Officials with the region will be out next week helping pedestrians adjust as well. The roundabout is near St. Mary’s High School and safety officials plan to be at that location throughout the first week of school to ensure students know what they are supposed to do when crossing the busy roadway.
