Paul Fry was arrested last December in Waterloo on the same day the other Canadian man Brandon Lane was arrested in Kingston. Both are among a group of 72 people indicted in the U.S on charges of participating in an online bulleting board called Dreamworld.
A Justice Ministry spokeswoman says Fry has already been cleared for extradition by the courts. A London, court ordered him committed to custody on May 19 to await an extradition decision from Justice Minister Rob Nicholson. Lane meantime is scheduled to appear in court on August 19th.
Lane and Fry are charged with engaging in a child exploitation enterprise, conspiracy to advertise the distribution of child pornography, and conspiracy to distribute child pornography.The U.S. justice department alleges numerous participants in the network sexually abused children aged 12 and under, produced images and video of the abuse and then shared it with other members of an online bulletin board called Dreamworld. U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder called the called the activity a “nightmare” for the children and said that some of the children featured in the images and videos were just infants.
