Laurier Expansion

Wilfrid Laurier has announced a major expansion with help from the province. Construction is slated to begin before the end of the year on the new Global Innovation exchange building.
The project is worth about $103 million and Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities, John Milloy announced that the province will cover $72.6 million. Laurier will raise the remaining $30 million.
WLU President and Vice-Chancellor Max Blouw says the announcement is good news for the University and the whole region. He says, “The investment that has been announced today will provide our students, our faculty and our staff with the resources necessary to reach even higher levels of excellence.”
The Global Innovations Exchange will house Laurier’s school of Business and Economics and its Department of Mathematics. It will make room for almost 2000 new students.
Construction is expected to be finished by 2014.
