Armed standoff in Kitchener

A 27 year old Kitchener man faces a slew of charges after a stand-off in the Victoria Park area this morning.
Waterloo Regional Police say the unidentified man has been charged with assault, forcible confinement, possession of a dangerous weapon and 3 counts of breach of probation.
Spokesperson Olaf Heinzel says Police were called out for a domestic situation around 4am where the man brandished a knife and barricaded himself inside the home.
Negotiators were brought in and the man was eventually taken into custody around 9:30.
No one was injured.
