In a few days regional council will make one of the most important and expensive decisions on the future of transit in our region.
Saturday, citizens “FOR” and “AGAINST” the LRT presented their opinions at two seperate rally’s.
Regional councillor Jean Haalboom was one of about 200 people to show up for the noon hour rally in support of Light Rail Transit. She told 570 News light rail transit is important to shape the region into the future.
Later in the afternoon a smaller group showed up to voice their opinions against the decision stating concerns that LRT would “ruin” downtown Waterloo and one woman was there to question he motives of the politicians elected in last years municipal election.
Regional council votes on the LRT decision on Wednesday.
