Murder charge laid in death of a baby

Murder charges have been laid in connection with the death of a baby in Ingersoll last summer.

OPP say 5-month-old Brookelyn Hopkins died in a London hospital back in August.

40-year-old Melissa Garland was initially charged with failing to provide the necessaries of life and criminal negligence causing death.

Yesterday, police say Garland was arrested and charged with second degree murder.
