Days getting sunnier for province’s best paid

The number of public sector employees earning more than $100,000 per year in Ontario has climbed by more than 11 per cent.
According to figures released by the Ministry of Finance today, there are 71,478 on the latest “sunshine list” of salaries.
The top salary was paid to Ontario Power Generation president Tom Mitchell, who earned $1,325,119. But David Johnston was not far behind. The former president and vice-chancellor of the University of Waterloo was paid $1,041,880 before moving to Ottawa last fall to become Governor General.
Here’s a look at some of the top wage earners in Waterloo Region last year:
