Some alarming findings in a new study done by University of Waterloo researchers when it comes to women and smoking.

The study was done for the World Health Organization and it found those who live in countries with stronger rights for women smoke almost as much as men.

It says it appears there is a link between rising status and increased risk of smoking.

In such countries as China and Saudi Arabia, the study found men are 5 times more likely to smoke than women.

But, in countries like Canada, the U.S and Australia, women smoke almost as much as men do.

The study is published in the Bulletin of the World Health Organization.
