BBB warns of possible scam

Kitchener-Waterloo residents are being urged not to fall for a deal that may seem “too good to be true”.

A newspaper ad in the Globe and Mail states residents with the postal code starting with “N2” are eligible to buy sheets of mint condition two-dollar American bills.

The ad claims these sheets are so rare that banks don’t even have them, and that the bills could be worth a fortune in the future.

Investigator Bill Smith of the Better Business Bureau says this scam has previously been reported in St. Louis.

St. Louis residents were promised free bills, but then incurred hundreds of dollars in charges.
