9AM Train Petition for Benjamin Munch

9:10AM Jackie Santos joins Jeff in-studio to tell us about her plan to start a petition to fix railway crossings in Cambridge. Her gravely ill son Benjamin Munch waited in an ambulance for eight minutes while a train shunted back and forth on Concession Rd, July 3rd. He died three days later. Jackie is working with MP Gary Goodyear and will be setting up a booth in the mall to promote her petition. Question: Is it time the train situation in Cambridge is fixed? 9:30AM Grand River Transit still intends to install surveillance cameras on its buses, later this year. The cameras, now common in transit systems, are meant to deter crime and enhance security. But the transit service has delayed activating them, after critics complained that regional council never consulted the public and has no surveillance policy, saying who can view recordings and how long images are kept. Question: Cameras on buses? Good idea or against your right to privacy?
