Research In Motion’s 3rd quarter profit was over $911 million U-S for the quarter, an increase of 45-per cent compared to the same period last year.

Revenue for fiscal 2011 was up 40-per cent compared to the same period last year.

Revenue was $5.49 billion U-S.

The Waterloo-based company shipped over 14 million devices and added 5.1 million new BlackBerry subscribers.

RIM also announced co-CEO’s Jim Balsillie and Mike Lazaridis have been named co-chairmen of the board.
