UPDATE Missing Fergus man

A body believed to be that of a missing Fergus man has been found in a bush lot about two kilometres north of where he lived.

69-year old Carl Reid was first reported missing just after 12:30 a.m. yesterday by his son.

Wellington County OPP say Reid had gone out for a walk around 1:00 p.m. Sunday — his son went out later to run some errands and discovered his dad still wasn’t back when he returned around 9:00 p.m.

The OPP brought in a large search team, including a helicopter, to try to locate Reid.

His body was found just before 2:30 p.m. yesterday.

Reid lived on a farm on Guelph Street, just south of the 2nd line, south of Fergus — police say he only moved there a few months ago from Stayner.

A post mortem will be conducted today to try to determine the cause of death.
