Port Moody might not get a third Evergreen Line station

PORT MOODY (NEWS1130) – A recently released environmental assessment doesn’t include a third Evergreen station in Port Moody that’s been talked about since the early planning stages.
Port Moody Mayor Joe Trasolini says that an emergency council meeting will be held today and the reaction from the city isn’t positive. People have until Sunday to give their thoughts on the environmental assessments.
A third Evergreen station has been part of the plan since the $1.4 billion rapid transit line was first mentioned. The line’s project manager says the Queen Street Station would cost an additional $20 million, but it could still happen.
The Evergreen Line’s website says three potential additional stations are still being reviewed. Construction on the line is expected to begin in 2011 and be completed in 2014.
