SIU clears OPP in death

The province’s Special Investigations Unit has cleared the OPP in a death in Fergus.
22 year old Ryan Maher died on the weekend.
He was arrested earlier at a bar in Mount Forest.
The SIU determined there was no evidence to indicate that any member of the OPP in any way contributed to or caused the man’s death.
Maher began banging his head on the cells bars at an OPP detachment and was taken to Mount Forest Hospital for treatment.
He was released and died Saturday night while out with friends in Fergus.
