Fire training exercise in Waterloo

A fire training exercise caused a bit of a visual distraction in Waterloo this afternoon.

A crowd gathered to watch firefighters extinguish a blaze at the corner of Woolwich Street and Bridle Trail.

Smoke could be seen as far away as downtown Kitchener.

Fire officials are calling it a routine exercise.
