UPDATE: Fatal crash near Cambridge

A woman was killed, a toddler in her vehicle was sent to hospital and the driver of another car was in critical condition after an accident Sunday night near Cambridge.
Police say a Mercedes travelling west on Highway 8 near Flamborough crossed into the eastbound lanes striking a Hyundai Accent head on.
Police have identified the 32-year-old female driver of the Hyundai as Laurie Banks. She was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 23 month old in the Hyundai didn’t appear to be injured but was transported to Cambridge Memorial Hospital to be examined.
The male driver of the Mercedes was transported by air ambulance to Hamilton General Hospital in critical condition. He is identified as 77-year old Richard Schiedel.
Police continue to investigate.
