Union talk at Toyota

Workers at the Toyota plant in Cambridge are talking about the latest bid to unionize their workplace.

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace workers need 40% of the plant’s workers to sign a union card to hold a unionization vote.

The same union tried to unionize the plant in April 2008 but failed.

Plant workers speaking to 570 News say there are no burning work issues right now.

Those in favour of unionizing feel the IAM would provide a voice for workers.

Those against say Toyota is a good employer, and unionizing is not necessary.
