A quiet evening of shopping was shattered last night at Fairview Park Mall in Kitchener when a brawl broke out between two groups of young people.

A war of words boiled over around 7:30 when the two groups squared off in a brawl that prompted security guards to step in – in an effort to quell the skirmish.

One of the guards suffered minor injuries trying to break up the fights.

Police were called in and made four arrests.
