Waterloo is Giving out Rain Barrels

Waterloo Region is giving out rain barrels today – for a price.
You can pick up your rain barrel starting at 7:30 a.m. at one of three locations, Conestoga Mall, Fairview Park Mall, or Cambridge Center mall.
The cost is $30 dollars and is limited to one per household, on a first come first serve basis.
Steve Gombos Manager of Water Effiencey for Waterloo Region, tells 570 News that the program has distributed 37,000 barrels since it started in 2001.
Gombos says anyone interested in a barrel should get out today, because this could be the last year that distribution will happen this way.
If you can’t make it out today and are interested in a rain barrel, Gombos says to check your local hardware store.
