Looking for galaxy volunteers

Calling all Waterloo Region stargazers for Galaxy Zoo 2.
It’s a follow up to the hugely successful Galaxy Zoo 1 as astronomers around the globe look to catalogue all of the galaxies in the heavens.
Chris Lintott, an astronomer at Oxford University, tells 570 News the main problem is there are just too many galaxies for them to chart alone – in the order of one million galaxies.
So, they’re recruiting everyday people to lend them a hand.
Lintott is in Waterloo Region, on a ‘recruiting’ mission tonight at Waterloo Collegiate Institute, as part of the Perimeter Institute’s lecture series.
He says everyday people are often better at identifying the shapes of new galaxies because we’re not bogged down in details.
He says anyone can take part, pointing out they’ve had discoveries from children as young as six.
