Provincial government delivers throne speech

The Ontario government outlined a five-year plan to grow the economy in Monday’s throne speech.
The speech promises the government will help create almost one-million jobs in the next decade.
It also promises to protect public services as it lays out a plan in the coming budget to eliminate a record deficit of almost $25-billion dollars.
The next budget is expected to be presented on March 25th.
The speech promises legislation to cash in on the 400 billion-dollar a year global demand for clean water technology.
The speech also pledges to raise Ontario’s post secondary rate to 70 per cent — up from the current 62 per cent.
Cambridge Mayor Doug Craig tells 570 News financing for hospitals sounds interesting, adding he’s going to wait to see what happens there.
Craig is hoping the budget will address where the province is in terms of the reconstruction of Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
