Man facing child porn charges following search of home in Ayr

In November 2019, Waterloo Regional Police received complaints from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre regarding a person uploading child pornography. 

As a result, investigators from the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Cybercrime – Internet Child Exploitation Unit commenced an investigation. 

In February 2020, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service executed a search warrant at a residence in Ayr. 

As a result of the investigation, police arrested a 67-year-old male, charging him with three counts of Possession of Child Pornography and two counts of Making Child Pornography Available. 

The Waterloo Regional Police Service is a member of the Ontario Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet. This project has been made possible by a grant from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
