Rangers stay slumping thanks to Spits

It seems so long ago.

The Kitchener Rangers had points in seven of their first eight games, including five wins.  Since then, they’ve dropped six-of-eight.

The latest came at the hands of the Windsor Spitfires, they blanked the Rangers 3-0 Friday night.

“There are 68 games (…) right now we're in a slump,” said overage forward Chase Campbell, “I’d rather be in the slump right now, than in Game 60.”

A slump like this is sure to test the confidence level of the Rangers. Luckily, Campbell and others have been there before, and know what it takes to come out of it on the other side.

“You have to do the small things properly, and you have to work even harder at it,” said the Waterloo native, “That starts with practice and in the gym. You do the little details, and you do it the best you can and you perfect them.”

Kitchener’s offence has gone stale, resulting in only 13 goals over the last six games.

“We put, I believe, 73 shots on net in the last two games and only have two goals to show for it,” said Kitchener head coach Jay McKee, “You go through that sometimes. Every team does. It happens at every level.”

“Certainly, some growing pains. But I believe this team has better than what we're showing right now.”

Things don’t get any easier for Kitchener.
