Severe thunderstorm watch issued for Monday afternoon/evening

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Waterloo Region.

It's warning of severe storms Monday afternoon and into the evening.

We could see torrential downpours and strong wind gusts up to 90 km/hr.

The storms are developing over lower Michigan and are expected to move into Ontario on Monday afternoon.

Waterloo Region is also under a heat warning.
