Regional police responded to a late night call in the Kitchener and ended up seizing a loaded handgun.
A call came in Tuesday, December 31, at around 11:30 p.m. and reported three men in possession of a firearm.
Officers arrived in Ingleside Drive and Hazelglen Drive of Kitchener and arrested three suspects at the scene.
They say they seized a loaded handgun along with what they suspect is cocaine.
A 22-year-old Kitchener man was charged with a number of firearm-related offences, as well as Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Controlled Substance.
Another man, a 21-year-old from Kitchener, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. A third man was released with no charges.
A call from a concerned citizen and a quick response from patrol officers led to the seizure of a loaded handgun and suspected cocaine. Great work by everyone involved.
