Original Harmony Lunch burger available at Jack’s Family Restaurant

It's a tale of three local family businesses coming together.

That's the word from Jack's Family Restaurant in Waterloo, as it is now offering the Original Harmony Burger.

“We were approached by the Stemmler and Marks families about carrying on the tradition and history of the Original Harmony Burger,” said Jack's co-owner, Saddy Kulafi, in a release. “We thought now, amid a third wave of a never-ending pandemic, people need a feel-good story. Two things that make people feel good are nostalgia and comfort food. This burger combines both.”

The burger was made famous by Harmony Lunch in Uptown Waterloo, which shut its doors permanently in early 2020.

Stemmler Meats in Heidelberg produced the original recipe and continues to sell frozen 5 oz patties at its retail store.

“This is a feel-good story of three local family businesses joining together to bring back a local community favourite that many generations enjoyed before in Uptown Waterloo,” said President of Stemmler Meats, Terry Stemmler, in a release.

If your mouth is watering and you'd like to pick-up a burger – takeout is available at Jack's Family Restaurant between 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. weekly, except for Mondays.

It can be ordered for pick-up by calling 519-746-4800, or for delivery through Skip the Dishes.
