Guilty plea in Cambridge homicide from 2020

A man has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder following a fatal stabbing in Cambridge. 

It happened in September of 2020 as police responded to a residence on Linden Drive. 

A 26-year-old Cambridge man was stabbed and pronounced dead at the scene. 

At the time, police said they arrested a 28-year-old Kitchener man in connection with the incident and charged him with second-degree murder. 

They said the accused and the victim were known to each other. 

On Thursday, court officials confirmed to CityNews 570 that Sandeep Jassal pleaded guilty to the second-degree murder charge. 

Jassal was sentenced to life in prison, without possibility of parole for 10 years.
