GRCA issues watershed conditions statement

By Erin Anderson

The Grand River Conservation Authority has issued a watershed conditions statement.

The safety message is due to heavy rainfall.

A release from the GRCA said, “Rainfall associated with this system will result in elevated flows and increase the possibility of minor flooding in low-lying areas.”

Flows in the Nith River, lower Speed River, and southern Grand River are expected to increase overnight Friday.

The public is being urged to exercise caution, which includes keeping kids and pets away from all waterways.
