Sergeant Jeff Cooper says the crash happened just after 9 a.m. on Thursday, at the corner of Greenbrook and Westmount Road.

“Northbound vehicle on Westmount Road, approaching Greenbrook, struck a crossing guard – who was crossing children in the middle of the intersection. The crossing guard went up on the hood of the car, and suffered some major injuries.”

The Kitchener woman, 46, was transported to a local hospital, and suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
