Blood donors needed ahead of long weekend

Canadian Blood Services is appealing for blood donors ahead of the August long weekend.
The Waterloo clinic needs to fill close to 70 appointments at two upcoming donation events.
– Saturday, July 30 from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
– Monday, August 1 from 2 p.m. – 7 p.m.
The organization recently said the number of regular donors during the pandemic had decreased by 31,000, resulting in the smallest donor base in a decade.
“When we asked the public for their support, they responded and made a difference. June 2022 was the third highest month for welcoming new donors since the start of the pandemic.” a news release stated.
