11:00am- Christina Blizzard, Toronto Sun Columnist, Re: As Ontario Power Generation is still reeling from this week’s Auditor General Report, Blizzard says the only way to bring about discipline within public companies such as OPG is to subject them to the same market discipline the private sector has. She says if OPG got a board of directors that has shareholders breathing down their necks, their pensions will become the same RRSP-based defined contribution plans the rest of us have and they might even get around to generating cheap electricity.
11:30am- Todd Cowan, Mayor of the Township of Woolwich, Re: After OLG and the Liberal government made their final decision to not place a casino in Woolwich Township, instead focussing on Grand River Raceway. Cowan says the whole casino debate about the social and policing implications, we are still going to be dealing with problem gamblers in the Region.
