A temperature record set on Tuesday

It was one for the record books.

We set a new record for high temperature on September 10th yesterday.
It topped up at 34.5 degrees, breaking the old mark set in 1952.

570 News Weather Specialist John Wilson says it was also the hottest day of the summer.

We have one more hot one today with the high expected to top up at 30, however, much cooler weather is on the horizon.

Wilson says a cold front will drop the temperature to 9 overnight.
