Gun, drugs seized in police search at Kitchener home

A drug trafficking investigation has turned up a loaded handgun and drugs from a Kitchener home.

Wednesday, a home in the Country Hill Drive area of the city was searched as part of a drug trafficking investigation dating back to earlier this year.

Police said a loaded handgun, ammunition, and suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, and hydromorphone were found.

Two people are facing numerous charges including three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Those charged included a 34-year-old man and 26-year-old woman from Kitchener.
