Waterloo regional police asked drivers to avoid part of Weber Street East in Kitchener on Monday afternoon following a single-vehicle crash.

Police responded to the collision around 3 p.m. as a vehicle struck a hydro pole.

No injuries were reported, and Weber Street East was closed between Fairview and Borden avenues for hydro repairs.

Police expected the road closure to last for several hours through Monday night.

A police spokesperson noted that a tow truck driver and a towing business are facing charges under the Towing and Storage Safety and Enforcement Act for parking/stopping within 200 metres of a collision.
