Police locate people from incident near Grand River, deemed not suspicious

Police have given the all-clear after announcing they needed to find two people involved in what was called a suspicious incident in Kitchener.

A witness told officers from the Waterloo Regional Police Service they saw something concerning on Sunday morning at Schneider Park and the Grand River access point there.

They said it happened at the Walter Bean Grand River Trail parking lot on King Street East.

The witness saw a woman climbing a hill near a bridge, and then a man escorted her into a vehicle.

Police sent out photos of that vehicle in their investigation to ascertain that the people involved are alright.

Waterloo Regional Police sent out an update around 7:30, Monday morning, saying they had found the people involved and the incident is no longer considered suspicious.
