Humane society brings back Cupid Treats this Valentine’s Day

Don’t forget your Valentine this February 14 — your furry valentine that is.

The Guelph Humane Society (GHS) is once again running its Cupid Treats for Furry Feets.

It’s the third year for the program, which sees the community donate Valentine’s Day cards to animals in the shelter.

The Valentine’s include a special treat and donation to support shelter services such as food and veterinary care.

“At its heart, Cupid Treats is about connection,” said Jane Dawkins, director of communications and community engagement at the Guelph Humane Society.

“For animals waiting for a new home, that kindness matters more than people realize. It helps them feel safe, and it helps them develop trust, it helps them feel kindness, sometimes for the first time.”

The community cupids will also receive a video of a shelter animal enjoying their edible donation.

Cupid Treats can be purchased until Wednesday, February 12.
